We are based out of Ambattur. It gets really hot here on Lower Canal Road. Most days we are just coordinating trucks and checking on project sites around Prithivipakkam. The office at Rahul Arunachala is small but it works for us. We have been in this part of Chennai for a while now. You can usually find someone here by eight in the morning because the traffic gets bad later. Sometimes the internet is slow and we just handle things over the phone. We do a lot of concrete work and road stuff. It isn't glamorous. We wear boots and safety vests all day long. The tea shop around the corner is where we usually take our breaks. It is a busy area with a lot of noise from the canal construction. People come and go. We deal with suppliers and laborers mostly. It is a lot of paperwork and making sure the gravel arrives on time. My desk is covered in maps and blueprints that never seem to stay organized. We just keep moving forward with whatever the current project needs. The neighborhood knows us because our vehicles are always parked near No: 23/15. It is just a regular workplace where things get built. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a few desks, some chairs, and a lot of work to get through before the sun goes down and we head home.
