Hybrid Auto Cast

Hybrid Auto Cast is down at 256 in the Sidco Industrial Estate in Ambattur. If you’ve ever been to Ambattur, you know it gets very hot, especially inside a casting shop. We have the furnaces going most of the time. It is sweaty, hard work and you have to be careful. The Sidco estate is a huge place with lots of small shops like ours. We have been in this particular unit for several years. The walls are covered in soot and the floor is always dusty from the sand molds. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything. If you want to see what we do, you just have to come onto the shop floor. My staff are local guys who live nearby. They work hard and we try to look out for each other. Sometimes the metal doesn't pour right and we have to scrap the whole batch. That’s a bad day. We don't have a big marketing budget or a corporate logo. We just have the name on the door. People come to us because we’ve been here and they know we do the work. We don't have a fancy way of talking about what we do. It’s just casting metal into shapes. We stay busy with the orders that come in and try to stay cool when the sun is high. It’s a simple business and we like it that way.
