You can find us at 339 in the Sidco Industrial Estate over in Ambattur. It is a busy industrial hub, and Gaskets (India) Private Limited is right in the middle of it all. The building is a functional one, built for work rather than looking good. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of stamping and cutting. We make gaskets, and we’ve been doing it in this same spot for a long time. The floor is grey concrete and there are stacks of materials everywhere you look. It’s a bit noisy, so we usually have to raise our voices to be heard over the machines. We don't have a big HR department or a PR firm. We just have a group of people who know how to run the equipment. Some of the guys have been here since the start. We eat our lunch together in the small break area and talk about the local news. The commute in Ambattur can be a pain with the traffic, but once we are inside the gates, it’s just about the production. We don't use fancy jargon or pretend to be something we are not. We just make parts that people need. It is a standard industrial life, focused on getting the orders out the door before the end of the shift.
