We are over here at 19, Nelllikaran Street in Thiruvottiyur. It is a corner of the world we have known for a long time now. The building is not anything special to look at, just a place where we get the work done every day. Fluid Controls Pvt. Ltd. has been operating out of this spot, dealing with all the stuff that goes into pipes and machines. It is mostly valves, fittings, and things that help liquids move where they are supposed to go. Sometimes the street gets really crowded with trucks and people moving about, but that is just how it is in this part of town. We open up early, usually before the sun gets too hot, and we stay until the list for the day is finished. Most of us here have been doing this for years, so we know the inventory pretty well. If someone comes in looking for a specific part, we usually know exactly which shelf it is sitting on, even if the label is a bit torn. It is not a fancy office with air conditioning in every room, but it works for what we do. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking orders on the old computer in the back. It is a simple life, really. We make sure the parts are right and that they get to the people who need them. Thiruvottiyur has changed a lot since we first set up shop, but our daily routine stays about the same.
