You can find our workshop at No. 75A in the Tass Industrial Estate over in Ambattur. It’s right in the middle of all the other factories and units, so the air usually smells like grease and hot metal. We’ve been operating out of this unit for a long time now. The floor is concrete, stained with oil in a few places where the older machines sit. We spend our days working on different engineering bits, mostly turning parts or welding things together. It’s loud in here when the grinders are going, so we’ve all learned to talk a bit louder than normal. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a partitioned corner with a few filing cabinets and a computer that’s seen better days. The team is made of people who don't mind getting their hands dirty. We wear work clothes that are usually covered in some kind of shop grime by noon. Ambattur is a tough place to work during the summer because the metal roof holds the heat, but we’ve got some big fans that help a bit. We don't really do much in the way of fancy branding. Most of our work comes from other businesses in the estate or people who have been coming to us for years. We just focus on the drawings and making sure the measurements are right. It’s a basic engineering shop where we put in the hours and get the parts out.
