Eshi Creations

Our place, Eshi Creations, is at No. 1 Thiruveedi Amman Koil Street. We are located in the Mannurpet Padi area. It is a relatively quiet street compared to the big main roads around Chennai. The temple is right there nearby, so you can hear the bells ringing clearly in the early morning and then again in the evening. It is a nice, peaceful sound to have while we are working. The building itself is just a simple one-story structure with a flat roof. We have a small sign out front, but it is pretty easy to miss if you are not really looking for it. Inside, it is mostly an open space where we do all the daily cutting and the stitching work. The humidity can get pretty bad in the afternoons, so we keep the windows wide open, even though the mosquitoes sometimes get in. It is a bit of a trade-off. We have a few old wooden tables and some metal racks where we hang the finished items. I usually start the morning by sweeping out the dust that blows in from the street. The neighbors are almost all local families, so there are always kids playing outside or people stopping by just to chat for a minute. It is not a corporate environment at all. We just do our work, talk about the local news, and complain about how hot it is. It is just a humble little operation.
