Down here in Chennai, specifically at O-2 R C Enclave 36 Selvam Nagar, things move pretty fast most days. We are part of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd., and our day is mostly filled with phone calls and delivery schedules. The humidity can be something else, but the work does not stop for that. We are not trying to be the biggest or the loudest place in town, we just want to make sure the cement gets delivered to the building sites on time. It is a residential-feeling area, so we try not to be too noisy, but it is a business after all. We have got a small desk, a couple of chairs, and plenty of ledgers to keep track of everything. People come in asking about prices or when the next batch is arriving from the plant. We tell them what we know. There is no script here, just regular talk. Sometimes we run out of certain items and have to wait, which is frustrating for everyone, but we deal with it. We have been at this 600110 pincode for a while now. It is a lot of coordination between the plant and the local builders. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It is not about being corporate; it is about making sure the contractor has his materials before the sun goes down. That is the way we have always done it at this branch.
