Richartson Pharmaceuticals is based out in V. J. Puram, which is a small village near the Nochili Post in the Athimanjeripet area. Being out in a village means things move at a different speed than they do in Chennai or Madurai. Our address is 199/1, and it’s a fairly straightforward building surrounded by more greenery than you’d expect for a pharma company. Most of us grew up around here or in the nearby towns. We don’t have fancy commutes; some people even walk or ride bikes to work. The building itself is sturdy and functional. We spend a lot of time making sure everything is stored correctly and that the records are up to date. There’s a lot of manual work involved, moving things around and checking inventory by hand. It can get dusty because of the local roads, so we are always cleaning. We don’t really deal with the public directly very often, so it’s mostly just the staff here. Lunchtime is usually a communal affair where we sit together and talk about local farming or village news. It’s a very grounded way to run a business. We aren't interested in being the biggest company out there. We just want to do our jobs well and stay part of the community here in V. J. Puram. It’s a quiet life, but we like it that way. No one is in a rush here.
