Our workshop is located in Chengannur, which is a nice town in Kerala. The place is called Parackal Kizhakethil, and it is right near the post office. We have been working with leather for a long time now. If you walk into our space, the first thing you notice is the smell of the hides and the sound of the cutting tools. It is not a sterile factory environment. It is a place where people are actually sitting and working with their hands. We have piles of leather in different colors and textures stacked up against the walls. We don't have a big corporate office in a city. We prefer being here where we have the space to actually make things. The workers here have been doing this for years, and they know the material better than anyone. We don't spend our time writing big mission statements or promotional flyers. We just focus on making sure the stitching is straight and the leather is good quality. Sometimes we have a lot of orders and things get a bit hectic, but we just keep at it. The weather here can be quite wet during the monsoon, which makes drying things a bit tricky, but we have our ways of managing. It is a practical, honest business. We make things, we pack them, and we send them out from Chengannur to wherever they need to go.
