Sri Kalaimagal Offset Printers is right here in the AJG Building on BS Surendar Road. We’ve been at this spot for a good while now. Most days it’s just the sound of the machines running and the smell of fresh ink. If you walk past No 100 A, you’ll probably hear the hum from the street. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a workspace filled with stacks of paper and different types of printing plates. My hands are usually stained with some color or another by noon. We handle a lot of different jobs, mostly things like wedding invitations or local business forms that people need for their shops. The traffic on Surendar Road can get pretty loud during the afternoons, but we just keep working through it. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how things go around here. We don't have a big team of people in suits. It’s just us, making sure the alignment is right and the colors don't bleed into each other. Every morning starts with cleaning the rollers and checking the stock. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. People from around the neighborhood know where to find us if they need something printed quickly. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of the real work happens on the floor with the big machines. That’s just how it’s always been.
