Shopi Art

Muthusamy Chettair Street is a bit tucked away in the Eshwaramurthy Layout. We are right near the Vat School, so we hear the bell ring every few hours and then the sounds of kids shouting. Shopi Art is at number 2. It’s a humble little spot where we keep our supplies. The windows are a bit small so we keep the lights on even during the day. We have all sorts of things tucked into drawers and on the shelves that reach up to the ceiling. Finding something specific sometimes takes a few minutes because I forget where I put it. We get a lot of parents coming in after they drop their kids off. It’s a friendly neighborhood and people usually say hello as they walk past. We have some old posters on the wall that have faded over time. I probably should replace them but they’ve been there so long they feel like part of the building. We don't have any fancy computers, just a notebook where we write down what we sell. It works well enough for us. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop quite hard, so we usually pull the blind down a little bit. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for when the school lets out for the day and the street fills up with families.
