Knit Fashions

Our shop is located at 8/273-D on Pallivasal Street, over in the Srinagar part of Pitchampalayam Pudur. It’s a mouthful to say the address, but it’s easy enough to find if you know the area. We work with knits mostly. The machines take up most of the room, so things can feel a bit tight when we have a big shipment ready to go. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time. People walk by the windows every day on their way to the market. We don't have a big receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and you're right there where the work happens. It’s a lot of cutting and sewing. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us. We try to keep the floors swept, but with all that lint from the knitting, it’s a losing battle. Knit Fashions isn't a name you'll see on billboards. We’re just a local outfit doing what we know how to do. The pay is fair, the work is steady, and we like the people we work with. That’s enough for us. Most of the stuff we make ends up in boxes heading to bigger cities. We just focus on our little corner here in Pitchampalayampudur and keep the needles moving every single day.
