Ethnic Weaves

Ethnic Weaves is located at #31A Pattayappan Nagar 4th Street. We are right by the 15 Velampaiayam area, near the Pattayapan Nagar Arch. It’s a busy part of town and there’s always something happening right outside the door. Inside, we have our looms and the fabric stuff all over the place. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but the fans keep the air moving enough for us to keep working. We focus on the weaving part of things, so there's always the sound of machines or people talking about thread counts and colors. It isn't a polished showroom or anything like that. It's more of a workspace where the actual labor happens. We have rolls of cloth stacked up against the walls and boxes ready to be sent out. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we all know each other pretty well. We don't follow a strict corporate schedule, but we make sure the work gets finished. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that's just how it goes in this neighborhood. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, and the arch is a good landmark for people trying to find us. It’s a simple operation, just people who know how to weave and a few desks for the books. We don't do much advertising, just word of mouth mostly. We just keep weaving and hope the weather stays decent.
