Gs Knit Wear

Gs Knit Wear is based at 504/1, Iswarya Nagar, right near Palavajipalayam Pirivu. The sound of the machines is pretty much the background music to our lives here. We start the machines up early in the morning, and the rhythmic clicking and humming doesn't really stop until we close up for the evening. The space is filled with yarn, half-finished garments, and rows of needles. It can get quite hot in the work area, especially during the summer months, so we keep the big doors open to let the air circulate as much as possible. Working in the knitwear trade means we are always looking at threads and checking for snags in the fabric. We have a small crew and most of the people here have been with us since we started at Iswarya Nagar. It’s a hands-on kind of place where everyone knows how to fix a machine or pack a box if they need to. We don't have a fancy showroom; we just have our production floor and a small desk where we keep the books and take orders. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which gives us a few minutes to sit and chat. We aren't interested in being a global brand or anything like that. We just want to make good quality knitwear and keep the shop running so everyone can go home happy at the end of the day.
