Cartel Textile Corp

We operate out of a facility at SF No 258 in the Valayankadu area, right along Dharapuram Road. It’s a busy textile hub around here in P Vadugapalayam. If you walk into our shed, you’ll hear the constant thudding of the looms. It’s a sound that stays with you even after you go home at night. There is lint and bits of thread everywhere, clinging to our clothes and the walls. We spend most of our time watching the threads to make sure nothing snaps or gets tangled up. It’s tiring work standing on the hard floor all day, but we are used to it. The heat can get pretty bad in the afternoons, so we keep the big side doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the road. We don't have any corporate offices or anything like that. Just a small corner with a table where we eat our lunch and keep the ledger. Most of the people working here have been in textiles their whole lives. We get our raw materials from nearby, and most of what we make gets loaded onto trucks bound for the bigger markets. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to spend hours greasy up to our elbows trying to fix a gear. It’s just how things are in a textile shop. It’s a bit messy and loud, but it’s our daily life.
