As A Qad

Our place is on Radha Krishina Street, right near the Arulmurugan Rolling Mills. If you are in Ammapalayam, Tirupur, you probably know the area because of all the textile work going on. My job involves QAD, which is basically making sure the systems and data are all lined up right. Tirupur is a loud, busy town with lots of trucks moving fabric and metal. I sit in a small room at number 49. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, but we have a fan that keeps the air moving. I spend a lot of time looking at numbers and spreadsheets. It’s not the most exciting work for some people, but it’s important for keeping things running. The rolling mills nearby make a lot of noise, but I’ve gotten used to it over the years. I’ve lived in this part of Tamil Nadu my whole life. The people around here are hardworking and don't have much time for small talk. We just get on with it. My desk has a lot of old notebooks on it where I jot down things to remember. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait it out. It’s just a regular life in a regular street. Nothing fancy, just me and the computer trying to stay organized. Most of the time it is quiet inside the office even with the mill running next door.
