VGC Chit Funds Private Limited is located out in a more rural setting. Our address is 485/2, Vannakattu Thottam, in the village of Kannimar Kattu Pudhur. This is near Vayakattu Pudhur in the Tirupur area of Coimbatore. Being in a village means our day-to-day life is a bit different from the offices in the city center. We are surrounded by more open space and gardens, which is what the Thottam in our address refers to. It is a quiet place to work, though we do get busy when it’s time for the monthly chit collections. Most of the people we work with are from the surrounding villages and farms. They come by on their scooters to settle their accounts or to see when the next draw is happening. The office itself is very plain, just some sturdy furniture and the necessary ledgers for tracking the funds. We don't have a lot of modern frills because we don't really need them to do our jobs properly. We spend a lot of time just talking to the members and hearing about how their crops are doing or what’s new in the village. It’s a very personal way of doing business. We keep our records by hand mostly, and then put them into the computer later when things quiet down. It’s a steady routine that fits the pace of life here in Vayakattu Pudhur.
