Magalir Mattum

Magalir Mattum is located right on the Palladam Main Road in Verapandipirivu. It’s a very busy road with trucks and cars passing by all the time. Our shop is a place where local women come together to work. We’ve been here for several years now. It’s not a fancy boutique or anything like that. It’s just a workspace where we do our best with the garments we handle. Most of us live nearby, so we walk or take a short bus ride to get here. We share our stories while we work, which makes the day go by faster. The noise from the main road can be a bit much sometimes, but we don't really notice it anymore. We don't have any big mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to do good work and support our families. People know us for being reliable, and that’s enough for us. We keep the place tidy, but it’s definitely a working shop, with threads and fabric pieces everywhere. In the afternoons, we usually have some snacks and take a quick break before finishing up the last of the day's tasks. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day. We are just a group of people working hard in Verapandipirivu. If you are driving down Palladam Main Road, you’ll probably see us there.
