Leel Chand Knitwear

Leel Chand Knitwear is located at No. 43 in Swarnapuri Enclave No. 15. It’s a bit of a maze back here, but once you find us, you’ll see we stay pretty busy. We work mostly with yarn and knitting machines. The rhythm of the machines is like a heartbeat for the building. It’s a lot of thread and needles and keeping track of patterns. We started this because we knew how to make things that people actually want to wear. It’s not a high-fashion studio. It’s a workshop where real work gets done. There are piles of sweaters and hats and other knit goods waiting to be packed. We spend a lot of time checking for dropped stitches. The lighting in Swarnapuri Enclave is okay, but we have lamps at every station. We don't go in for big advertisements or sales pitches. We just figure that if the clothes are made well, that’s enough. Our staff has been with us for a long time. We know each other's families. It's a small community inside these walls. Sometimes we run out of a certain color of yarn and have to wait for the delivery, which can be frustrating. We just do our best to stay on schedule. The building is nothing special to look at, but what happens inside is what matters to us. It’s how we make our living.
