The President Clothing

Our address is No. 194 Sri Mithun Nivas, located in Pariyuramman Nager. We are near the Nochipalayam Privu, under the Veerapandi Post office area. The President Clothing is a small operation we run out of this building. It is a bit of a distance from the main city center, which I actually prefer because it’s a bit more peaceful here. We have a few rooms dedicated to the garment work. One room is just for the cutting and another has the stitching machines. I live nearby, so I just walk over every morning around seven. We usually have a small group of workers who come in from the surrounding villages. We make mostly cotton clothes because of the heat in this region. Sometimes the water supply is a bit unreliable, so we keep big drums filled up just in case. The building itself is an older style house that we converted. There’s a big tree in the front yard where we sit during our lunch breaks to get some shade. We don't have a big marketing budget or a sales team. Most of our orders come from people we have known for years in the garment trade. It’s a simple way of living and working. We focus on getting the stitches straight and making sure the buttons don't fall off. That's about all there is to it at the end of the day.
