Uvashree Garments

We are located at No. 3/253- A in Aathupalayam, which is near the Pattuthu Arasiamman Kovil in Poondi. Having the temple nearby is nice; you can hear the bells and the morning prayers while we start our work. It’s a quieter part of the region compared to the big city centers. Our building is a simple structure where we do all our garment work. We have rows of tables where the cutting and sorting happen. The air usually smells like fresh cotton. Most of the people working here live in the surrounding area, so we all know each other’s families and stories. We don't have a fancy sign or a polished showroom. It’s just a place where we get the job done. Sometimes when the monsoon rains come, the roof leaks a little in one corner, so we have to move the machines around to keep them dry. We handle a lot of different types of clothing, mostly everyday wear. We aren't trying to be a high-end fashion house; we just want to make decent clothes that people can actually use. In the evenings, the area around the temple gets busy, and we usually wrap up our work and head home just as the sun starts to set. It’s a good, steady life here in Poondi, and we are happy with our small place in the local garment industry.
