Retro Clothing

You can find Retro Clothing over at No. 58 Walrus International on Union Mill Road. It’s a pretty big building, and we have our own little corner of it on the ground floor. Union Mill Road is one of those places that never really seems to sleep. There is always a truck backing up or someone loading something onto a cart. At Retro Clothing, we deal with a lot of fabric and different garments. The air inside always smells a bit like new cloth and the steam from the iron. I’ve been working here at No. 58 for a long time now. The Walrus International building has seen better days, maybe, but it’s sturdy and it keeps the rain off our heads. We have these big windows that let in some light, but they’re usually blocked by racks of clothes or boxes. It’s a bit cramped inside sometimes, especially when a brand new shipment arrives from the mills. We just move things around until everything fits and we can walk again. It’s not a fancy showroom with lights. It’s just where we do the work. The people at Retro Clothing are mostly just trying to get their daily lists finished. We drink a lot of tea and try to keep the old machines running as smooth as we can. Union Mill Road is a tough place to park, so we just walk or take the bus.
