Udhavum Ullangal Foundation

Our office is at No.3/453 in Vetrivel Nagar, which is in Chinnaveerampatti, Udumalaipettai. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the main part of town, but it’s a nice area once you get here. The building is just a standard house that we’ve converted into a workspace. We have a small porch where we sit sometimes when it’s not too hot out. Inside, it’s mostly just open space with a few partitions. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, maybe just a calendar and some notes taped up. The floors are tile and easy to sweep, which is good because there’s a lot of foot traffic. People from the local area drop in quite a bit just to say hello or ask for help with something. We don't have a big reception desk or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will be there to talk to you. Udumalaipettai is a quiet town for the most part, and we like it that way. We spend our days mostly on the phone or writing things down in ledgers. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but we haven't found a reason to change it yet. The air is usually pretty fresh coming off the hills nearby. We just keep at it, day after day, doing what needs doing in our little corner. It is a steady way to spend the time.
