Out here on College Road, things feel a little bit different than they do in the main parts of the city. R. S. Garden is a decent enough spot for a business like ours. Our place at number 6 in the Tvr Nagar Extension is where we handle all the sewing and the cutting. We moved into this area because there was a little more room to move around. The walls inside are covered in paper patterns and bits of fabric samples we have picked up over the months. We do not have a receptionist sitting at a front desk. If the bell rings, whoever happens to be closest to the door goes to see who is there. Usually, it is just a delivery person or someone from the neighborhood. We spend a lot of time looking at different colors under the light to make sure they match up correctly. It is funny how a shade of blue can look so different when the sun starts to go down. The local tea guy knows exactly what time to come by our door. We try to keep the workroom tidy, but when you are working with fashion, threads and scraps of cloth end up everywhere. They seem to have a mind of their own. We have a couple of heavy-duty machines that make a lot of noise when they are running. You cannot really have a quiet conversation in the room. We just work through the day.
