Being inside Spencer Plaza at No. 46 Tnk Puram keeps us right in the middle of things on Anna Salai. K K Textiles is basically where we keep all our rolls of cloth. It is not a huge shop, but we pack a lot into the space. Most of the time, I am here early to open up and check what stock came in from the mills. Anna Salai is always noisy with traffic, but once you get inside the plaza, it is a bit quieter. We mostly deal with regular customers who have been coming to us for years. They know we carry a variety of materials. It gets a bit dusty with all the fabric flying around, but that is part of the job. We do not have a website or anything like that, we just talk to people who walk in. If someone needs a specific color or a certain type of weave, we look through the shelves. Sometimes we have to move twenty heavy rolls just to find one specific piece at the bottom. It is hard work on the back, but it keeps us busy. We like the location because it is easy for people to find us even if the mall is big. Just ask for the textile place near the corner. We stay until late most evenings making sure everything is folded back up right for the next day. It’s a lot of folding.
