Thirumala Garments Tiruppur

Our spot is right on Avinashi Road, specifically 157/3 Mariamman Kovil 1st Street. If you see the S.A.P. Theatre, you're pretty much there since we're right opposite it. Tiruppur is known for this kind of work, and we’ve been part of it for a bit. It’s just a regular garment place. We have some machines running most of the day. The noise is something you get used to after a week or two. Sometimes the traffic on Avinashi Road makes it hard to park, but people manage. We don't do anything fancy. We just make garments. It started out small and stayed that way for the most part. The workers here are mostly from around the neighborhood. We know the people at the theatre too. It’s a busy corner of town. We spend a lot of time checking the stitching and making sure the boxes are packed right. It's physical work. My cousin helps with the accounts when he has time. We don't have a website or anything. Just the shop and the street outside. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, so we put a bucket there. That’s just how it goes in an old building. We try to keep the floors swept. It's honest work and keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. We just take things one day at a time here.
