Tanush Fashions Wear

If you walk down Elementary School Street in Kumaranandapuram, you will find us at 25/8-c. The shop is right in the middle of a busy residential area so there are always kids running around after school lets out. We started Tanush Fashions Wear because we wanted to have something of our own right here in the neighborhood. It is not a very big shop, but we make use of every inch of wall space for the clothes. We mostly sell everyday wear that people around here need. On rainy days, the street gets a bit muddy and we have to keep cleaning the floor so the clothes stay nice. We have a small bench outside where some of the older men sit and chat while their wives are inside looking at the new arrivals. The street isn't very wide, so when a truck comes through, everything feels a bit cramped. We know most of our neighbors by their first names. It is nice because work feels like just talking to friends all day. We do our own inventory and try to bring in things that the local families will actually use. The lighting inside is a bit yellow, but it makes the place feel cozy during the winter months. We don't have any big signs or posters, just the name over the door and the clothes on the hangers. It’s a quiet life but we enjoy being part of the Kumaranandapuram community and seeing the familiar faces every day.
