Soft Hosiery Mills

We are located at No. 63- C on Stanes Road 4th Street. It is a bit tucked away compared to the main road businesses but people find us. Soft Hosiery Mills has been operating out of this specific unit for quite some time now. The space is a bit cramped when we get a big shipment of yarn in but we manage to shift things around. You have to step over a few boxes to get to the back office. The light inside is a bit dim in the afternoons because the neighboring building blocks the sun. We usually have the radio playing low so the workers have something to listen to while they check the garments. It is a lot of repetitive stuff like checking seams and folding things into plastic bags. Sometimes the 4th street gets blocked by a delivery truck and then there is a lot of shouting and honking outside our window. It makes the day interesting I guess. We don't have a big sign outside just a small one near the door. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it is hot outside. We spend most of our time making sure the counts are right and the packing is done properly. It is just a regular place where people come to work. Nothing too special to look at but we stay busy enough. The tea man comes by at four and that is usually the highlight of the afternoon for everyone.
