Sruthi Fashions

Our place is located right across from the new bus stand over at Ponnanthottam. It’s number 31 on the street. Being near the bus stand means we get a lot of people just passing through or waiting for their next ride. We deal in clothes and general fashion items. It’s a family-run sort of vibe here. My cousin helps out most afternoons, and we mostly just focus on getting things on the racks so people can see them. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped because we try to have a good variety, but that’s part of the charm I guess. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything like that. People mostly find us because they’re walking by or someone told them about a nice shirt they bought here. The weather gets pretty hot sometimes, so we keep the fans going all day. We spend a lot of time folding and refolding clothes because people like to look through everything. It’s hard work on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We’ve seen the area around the bus stand change a lot over the years, but we’re still here at the same spot. It’s a decent place to work. We just try to be fair with everyone and keep the shop looking okay. It’s not a big corporate mall store, just a local spot where you can find something to wear without much fuss. We're open most days unless something comes up for the family, then we might open a bit later than usual.
