Sri Kumaran Garments

Sri Kumaran Garments is located at No. 2/7- B Poonoolkadu, right across from the Srinivasa Mandapam on Kangayam Road. If there’s a big wedding or an event at the mandapam, the road gets quite full of cars and people, which we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We spend our days inside working on various garments and checking the seams. It's a very straightforward setup with no frills. We have our sewing machines and the long cutting tables where most of the work happens. Sometimes the noise from the traffic outside comes right through the windows, but we just keep our heads down and get through the daily orders. We don't have a big front office or anything that looks particularly impressive to a stranger. It’s mostly just a practical workspace where we handle the sewing, trimming, and packing into bags. We’ve been in this spot for a bit, and the people in the neighborhood know us by name. Sometimes we’re still here late at night when a specific job needs to be finished. The light in the back room isn't the brightest, but it works fine for what we do. We try to keep the fabric scraps from piling up too high on the floor, though by Friday, it's always a bit of a mess. It’s just regular daily work for us. You might miss the entrance if you aren't looking closely, since we share the street with a few other small places. Kangayam Road is always moving. We just stay busy.
