Sri Palani Andavar Silks

We are located inside the Sri Devi Complex at No. 240 on Eswaran Koil Street. But it can be a bit confusing because we are also associated with the KPK Trade Centre at 27 Kandasamy Street. It’s a busy area with a lot of shops and people always rushing around. We go by Sri Palani Andavar Silks. This part of town is always crowded, especially during the festival seasons when everyone wants new clothes. Being in the complex means we have neighbors on all sides and it gets pretty loud with all the chatter. We don't have a lot of space for ourselves but we pack the shelves high with silk. You have to be careful walking through the aisles so you don't knock anything over. It’s just a normal shop run by normal people. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and start the day. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break, but mostly we are just busy with the fabric. Eswaran Koil Street is a famous spot and being at number 240 puts us right in the middle of everything. It’s a lot of work keeping things tidy when so many people are coming in and out, but that’s the life of a silk shop in this area. We just keep at it day after day.
