Softwear Exports

Down on Nochipalayam Road near A. P. Nagar you will find Softwear Exports. We are at 4/695 and it is right by the Veerapandi P. O. which is handy for us. Being so close to the post office makes things easier when we have to deal with paperwork or small parcels. The building is a simple one with a big metal shutter at the front. Inside it is mostly rows of tables where the cutting and checking happens. It gets pretty dusty with all the fabric lint flying around so we try to sweep every evening before heading home. The road outside can get muddy when it rains so we tell everyone to wipe their feet well. We have a few ceiling fans that wobble a bit but they do the trick when the afternoon heat kicks in. It’s a lot of work coordinating everything but we’ve been at it for a long time. The neighborhood is mostly other small workshops so there is always a lot of activity on the street. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by you’ll probably just see someone sorting through piles of shirts or packing cardboard boxes. It is just a honest day's work for all of us here. We try to keep the coffee pot full because the mornings start early. Sometimes we stay late when a big order is due but mostly we stick to the regular hours.
