Sm Clothing

Our place is over on No. 4th Street. It’s not a very long street, but it gets busy during the day. We started Sm Clothing without much of a plan, just a few sewing machines and some space to work. It’s been a few years now and we are still at it. The room we work in isn't huge, so we have to stay organized or we run out of floor space pretty fast. We spend most of our time cutting and stitching. There’s always a radio playing in the background to keep things from getting too quiet while we work. Some days are better than others, especially when we have a big deadline to meet and everyone is rushing around. We don't really do anything fancy here. It’s just about putting pieces of cloth together correctly. My cousin helps out with the packing sometimes when things get really crowded. We like being on 4th Street because it’s easy for people to find us once they get into the neighborhood. The neighbors are nice and they don't mind the noise too much. We try to keep things simple and just do the work that comes our way. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s what we do and we’ve gotten pretty good at it over the years. We just keep our heads down and keep the machines running as much as we can.
