Our shop is at No. 3/17 on Kongu Main Road. This part of town is always moving, especially with all the garment business happening nearby. We’ve got a simple setup here. It’s basically just one large room where we do all the cutting and stitching. The road outside is usually full of bikes and the occasional cart. We keep the doors open most of the time to let a breeze in, even if it brings a bit of dust with it. We handle a lot of bulk orders, so there are usually stacks of finished shirts waiting by the door. We don't have any fancy decorations or soft carpets. It’s concrete floors and wooden tables because that’s what works for this kind of job. My brother usually handles the deliveries while I stay back to manage the machines. We’ve been at this address for several years now and we know most of the other shop owners on the street. We just try to keep our heads down and get through the pile of work every day. Sometimes the threads get tangled or a machine breaks down, and we have to spend an hour fixing it ourselves. It’s just part of the routine. We don’t think much about it, we just keep going until the work is finished and the shutters go down for the night. It's a regular day for everyone here.
