Sarveshwer Garments

Down here at Geetha Nagar, things move pretty fast. Sarveshwer Garments is situated at No. 126 on 3rd Street in Sirupooluvapatti. It’s right in the heart of Tiruppur’s busy area. Every morning we roll up the shutters and get the machines humming. There is always a lot of thread and scraps of cloth on the floor by noon. We try to sweep it up but it just piles back up again. That’s just part of the garment business I guess. We work on all sorts of orders. Sometimes it’s a lot of the same thing and sometimes it’s different bits and pieces. The guys in the back have been doing this for years so they are pretty quick with their hands. It’s a bit noisy with all the chatter and the motors running, but you get used to it. The street outside is always full of bikes and trucks carrying bundles of fabric. Sometimes it’s hard to find a place to park. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist. If you come in, you'll probably see me or one of the tailors first. We just focus on getting the pieces finished correctly. It’s hard work and the days are long, especially when we have a deadline coming up. But we like staying busy. It beats sitting around doing nothing. We’ve been at this address for a good while and the neighbors are all okay people. It is just a regular garment workplace.
