Siranjeevi Fashions

Over here at Ganapathi Palayam Post in Veerapandi, life moves at its own pace. Siranjeevi Fashions is located at No. 139/7 and it is mostly just a busy room full of fabric and thread. We spend most of our mornings sorting through the new arrivals and getting the machines ready for the day. The sun gets quite hot in this part of Veerapandi so we keep the fans going at full speed. People from around the post office area stop by sometimes just to say hello or ask about a specific piece of clothing. We don't do anything too complicated here. It’s mostly about making sure the stitching is straight and the colors match up like they’re supposed to. The floor is usually covered in little bits of thread and scraps of cloth by the time evening rolls around. We try to sweep it up but it just piles back up the next morning. It’s not a big corporate office with glass walls. It’s just a workspace where we get things done. My brother helps with the packing and I handle the rest. We’ve been at this spot for a good bit of time now and the neighbors know us well. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time finding the exact door but they get there eventually. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever is on the table that day. The scissors stay busy and we finish when the light fades.
