Shakambari Textiles Pvt. Ltd. is based out of 266/271 Kuppandampalayam in the Veerapandi area. It’s a bit out of the way, but we have plenty of space for our textile work. The building is more of a functional shed than an office. We have the looms and the processing equipment all set up in rows. It’s a loud environment when everything is running at the same time. You have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise of the machines. We’ve been in Veerapandi for years now. The locals know us as the place that’s always busy. We don't have a polished front office with a water cooler or fancy chairs. Most of the time, we’re just out on the floor making sure the fabric is coming out right. It’s dusty and hot, but that’s the reality of textile manufacturing. We handle large rolls of cloth every day, moving them from one station to the next. It’s hard work and it’s physical. Our staff is mostly people from the surrounding area who know the trade. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just come in, start the machines, and produce the textile orders that we’ve been given. It’s a simple cycle that we’ve repeated thousands of times. When the day is over, we shut everything down and head home, ready to do it again the next morning.
