Seal Knits

Our shop, Seal Knits, is at No. 23-C. We are located in K. Chettipalayam, which is right off Dharapuram Road. It’s a good spot because the main road is right there, making it easy to get materials in and out without much trouble. The workshop isn't huge, but we make the most of the space we have. We’ve got our knitting units set up in a row. It’s pretty rhythmic once they all get going at once. We spend a lot of time checking the threads and making sure the tension is right on the machines so things don't break. There’s always a few of us drinking tea and talking about the day’s work in the morning. K. Chettipalayam is a nice area, not too loud but busy enough with people moving about. We don't spend money on fancy decorations for the place. We’d rather just have good lighting for the workers to see what they are doing. Sometimes the power goes out, and we all just have to wait it out, which is just how it is in this part of town. We handle everything from the initial knitting to the final check before things are bagged up for the clients. It’s a lot of manual work and standing around. We have some regulars who have been coming to us for years. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just do our business face-to-face or over the phone. It’s a simple way to live and work.
