S. R. Knit Wears

S. R. Knit Wears is based over on Sivanantha Colony First Street in Anupparpalayam Pudur. It’s a typical neighborhood where everyone kind of knows what everyone else is doing. We’ve got a small setup here for knitting, and it stays pretty busy most of the year. The machines have a certain rhythm to them that you get used to after a while. Most of us here have been working with knitwear for a long time, so we don't need much instruction anymore. We just get the yarn and start the process. The street outside is usually quiet, which is nice, but it picks up when the schools let out nearby. We don’t have a big corporate structure or anything. It’s just a few of us making sure the quality is decent and the counts are right. Sometimes we have a little trouble with the older machines, but we fix them ourselves and keep going. We don’t go in for big advertisements or flashy signs. Our name is on the door, and that’s about it. We just focus on the knitting and making sure the orders are ready when they’re supposed to be. It’s not the most exciting job in the world, but it’s ours, and we take some pride in just getting through the day’s tasks without any major hiccups. That’s how we’ve always done things here in Pudur for as long as I can remember.
