S. K. Garments

S. K. Garments is over at No. 39/17 Venkatesapuram 5th Street. We’re right near Chinthamani on P. N. Road. It’s a good spot, though the traffic on P. N. Road can be a nightmare during rush hour. We’ve been making clothes in this building for several years. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have the cutting tables and the sewing machines all in one big room. But it works for us. We make all sorts of daily wear. It’s not high fashion or anything like that. Just regular clothes for regular people. I’m usually there on the floor checking the stitching or helping with the packing. We don't have a big staff, just a few local workers who live nearby. We all know each other's families and situations. When things get busy, we stay late and order some tea and snacks from the corner stall to keep us going. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks or spend money on internet ads. People just find us by word of mouth or by seeing our sign when they’re stuck in traffic. We’ve had some ups and downs, like any small business, but we’re still here doing what we know. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a batch isn't right, we fix it ourselves. That's just how we were taught to do things. The door is usually open for anyone.
