Out at Pooluvapatti, on P.N. Road, we have our little setup for Rkv Garments. It’s located at No. 1163-b. Being a bit away from the main center means it’s a little quieter here, which we actually like. We mostly do garment work, which involves a lot of cutting, stitching, and checking for loose threads. The morning starts with us opening the shutters and letting the light in. We have a small group of workers who have been with us for a long time. We know each other's families and what’s going on in the village. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment. We just have our daily targets and we try to hit them without too much stress. Sometimes the fabric we get isn’t exactly the right shade, so we have to spend time sorting that out with the suppliers. We don't have a website or a big marketing plan. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. We just sit at our machines, do the work, and talk about whatever is happening in the news. When the day is done, we lock up and head home. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day. There isn’t much more to it than that, just making clothes and staying busy. It keeps us out of trouble and pays the bills at the end of every month.
