Down here at No. 57/27 Kumarappapuram 2nd Street in Rayapuram, things stay pretty busy. You can usually hear the hum of the machines before you even get through the door. It’s a tight space with a lot of people moving around, but we have a system that works for us. Most of our days are spent checking measurements and making sure the stitching is decent. We aren't a big factory with shiny walls, just a local spot where we get the job done. The street outside is narrow, so when the delivery trucks come, it’s always a bit of a scramble to get everything loaded up. We have a tea stall right at the corner that we visit way too often. The light in the back room isn't the best, so we do most of the detailed work near the windows where the sun comes in. It gets hot in the summer, especially with all the fabric sitting around, but we just turn the fans on high and keep going. We've been in this part of Rayapuram for a while now, and everyone knows where to find us if they need a batch of clothes finished. It’s mostly just hard work and making sure we don’t run out of thread at the wrong time. Sometimes we stay late when there’s a lot to do, but usually, we head home when the sun starts to go down.
