Sri Mahalakshmi Fashion

We are tucked away at 75- A Kumarappapuram 2nd Street. Most people find us by looking for the Lwcf building nearby, which is a good landmark because the streets around here can get a bit confusing if you aren't local. Sri Mahalakshmi Fashion is a busy little spot. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy out front. Usually, you’ll just see a few motorbikes parked outside and maybe some bags waiting to be picked up. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of the needles and the radio playing softly in the background. It gets pretty humid in this part of town, so we try to keep the doors open when we can, even if it lets in the street noise. The street itself is mostly residential with other small shops mixed in, so it feels like a neighborhood. We spend a lot of time just sitting at the tables, checking the stitching and making sure the pieces look okay before they go into the bags. There are days when everything feels like it’s moving too fast, and other days where we’re just waiting for the next delivery to arrive. We’ve had the same people working here for a long time, so we just get on with it without much fuss. It’s a practical place, built for work, not for showing off to visitors who might be looking for something more polished.
