Ramsam Garments

You can find Ramsam Garments at 12-d Ammaniammal Lay-out. We are in the Perchipalayam area, specifically near K. N. P. Colony. The layout is mostly residential, so it feels a bit more like home than a factory. We have several sewing machines lined up along the walls, and there is always a heap of scrap fabric in the corner. The sound of the needles hitting the fabric is constant from morning until we close up. We have big fans hanging from the ceiling to move the air around because it gets stuffy with all the cloth. Most of the people working here live nearby, so we see each other at the market too. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If someone comes to the door, whoever is closest just stops what they are doing to see what is needed. The floor is usually covered in thread and bits of lint, no matter how much we sweep. It is a messy job, but we like seeing a finished garment at the end of the day. We keep the lights bright so we don't strain our eyes. Sometimes we play the radio to help the time pass, but mostly we just listen to the machines and the birds outside in the colony. It is a simple life and the work is steady enough for us.
