Mothers Knit is based at the Telc Compound on Railway Feeder Road. Being near the railway means there is always some noise from the trains passing by, but we’ve gotten used to it. Our place is right at number 1. We do a lot of knitting work here, mostly focusing on getting the machines set up and watching them run. It’s a lot of maintenance to keep everything smooth and avoid snags. We have rolls of yarn everywhere in different colors. The floor is usually covered in a bit of lint, but we sweep it out at the end of the day. It’s a practical workspace, not a place for entertaining guests really. We just focus on the production side of things. Most of the time, we are busy checking the tension on the needles or packing the finished pieces into bags for delivery. The light coming through the windows is good in the morning. We have a few people who have been working with us for years. It’s a steady pace. We don't really push for big growth or anything, we just like to keep the machines busy and the orders moving out. Sometimes the power goes out and everything stops, which is frustrating, but we just wait it out. It’s just how things go around here on Feeder Road. We keep working until the job is done for the week.
