R. M. K. Apparrels

At R. M. K. Apparrels, we are located at No. 469 inside the Gowri Ginning Compound on Palladam Road. Our specific spot is at the back side of the Ma Knitting building. It can be a little tricky to find us the first time because you have to drive all the way into the compound and go around the larger structures. The compound itself is an old industrial site, so there’s a lot of history in the walls and the dusty ground. We deal with apparel, which means our space is filled with cutting tables and racks of garments at various stages of completion. The back-side location makes it a bit quieter than the shops right on Palladam Road, which is nice when we need to concentrate. However, it also means we get a lot of the dust from the ginning process next door. We don't mind it much; it’s just part of working in this area. The air is often filled with the sound of distant trucks and the closer hum of knitting machines from our neighbors. We have a small crew that has been with us for years, and we all just get on with the job. There aren't any fancy signs or decorations in our workspace. It’s just a place with good light and enough room for us to move the fabric around. We keep our schedules simple and focus on finishing the daily batches of clothes before the trucks come for pickup.
