Prabha Garments

We are located at number 15 in Karunanithi Nagar, which is part of the Weavers Colony area. If you know P.N. Road, you know it’s a place where everyone is involved in the textile trade. Our building is a simple structure where we handle all our garment work. There’s usually the sound of thread being spun or machines clacking nearby. It’s a neighborhood where people really understand the work that goes into making clothes. Our workspace is often filled with stacks of cut fabric and bundles of finished shirts. We don’t have air conditioning, so the ceiling fans are always spinning at full speed. It gets a bit cramped when we have a big order to finish, but we make it work. Most of the folks working here live close by. We’ve been in this colony for years and have seen how the garment industry has evolved. We don't put out fancy catalogs or have a glossy storefront. People mostly find us through word of mouth or by just walking past our door on their way to the market. Dealing with cotton and dye means things can get a bit messy, but that’s just the nature of the business. We start our day early and finish when the work is done. It’s a simple way of living and working in a community that revolves around the loom and the needle.
