S. A. Knits

Down on Palladam Road at number 373, that’s where S. A. Knits is located. Poombuhar Nagar is a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of traffic passing by our door. You can hear the bikes and trucks all day long. Inside, it’s mostly just the sound of the machines. We have been working out of this space for some time now. It’s a decent size, though it feels small when we have a lot of yarn coming in. We keep the rolls stacked up against the back wall. It gets pretty warm in the summer, so we keep the doors open as much as we can to let a breeze in. The floor is concrete and we’ve got a few light bulbs hanging from the ceiling. It’s not a fancy setup, but it works for us. We spend most of the day sorting through different pieces and making sure everything looks right. Some days are longer than others depending on how much we need to get through. We know the other shop owners around here pretty well. It’s a hard-working neighborhood. We just get on with our tasks and try to keep things organized. If you’re driving down the main road, you’ll see our gate right there. We stay busy with the local work that comes our way. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We just focus on the knitting.
