Our workshop is at No 5/587/4a on 2nd Street in Sree Ganesh Nagar. This part of Pitchampalyam Pudur is full of small businesses like ours. We moved into this space a few years ago because we needed a bit more room for the sewing machines. It’s a basic setup with concrete floors and high ceilings. We try to keep things moving throughout the day. Usually, someone is at the cutting table while the rest of us are at the machines. We don't have a lot of decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a few notes about the current jobs. The street outside is usually quiet enough, though we get the occasional delivery truck blocking the way. We share a lot of stories while we work to keep the mood light. Sometimes the work is repetitive, but we don't mind it much. It’s a way to earn a living and stay involved in the local trade. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just take the fabric and make it into something useful. When the day ends, we lock up and head home like everyone else. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s ours. We are just glad to have a steady place to work in Sree Ganesh Nagar. Most of the people around here are doing the same thing, just trying to make it through the week and get things finished.
