Sri Kaalika Apparels

Down here at No. 24 A. S. Kandasamy Layout, things stay pretty steady for Sri Kaalika Apparels. Being on 1st Street in Pitchampalayam means we are right in the thick of things. It’s a residential-looking area but there’s a lot of work happening behind these doors. We have a few rows of machines and a cutting table that’s seen better days, but it works fine for what we need. The neighbors are used to us by now. We usually start the day with tea and then get straight to the stitching. It's mostly regular apparel work, nothing too complicated but it takes time to get it right. The layout is a bit narrow, so when we have a delivery truck come in, it’s a bit of a squeeze. We don’t really have a big sign or a fancy lobby. You just walk in and see the work being done. Sometimes it gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going full blast. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here. We focus on the daily tasks, making sure the thread matches and the seams are straight. It’s not the kind of place you see in a magazine, but it’s our workplace and we like it that way. Just a local business trying to keep up with the orders we get from our regular contacts. We try our best to stay organized and get through the pile of fabric.
